Writing A Short Story

Coming up with a great narrative is definitely not an easy job. I admit it, I underestimated that at first, but now I know. I have spent quite amount of time investigating different ways to generate a short story. I have watched so many movies, and read quite a few short stories to get some inspiration. I have also tried to write stories myself, but I realised I need something it to base it on. So what I did is that I read a few articles on how I can get inspired to write a story. There was this one article that I liked which suggests writing something for a personal experience. And that's what I did. I've dug my personal experience and looked for something to inspire me. I came across an issue I used to have a lot, and I found it interesting for my short story.

 Feeling afraid of the spotlight.

Yes, you read it. That's the topic. I used to be really afraid of being put in the spotlight and having everyone looking at me. This kind of feeling is self-consciousness. To get more insights on the topic, I have read many articles that are taking about this issue and how to overcome it to help me develop the story. My favourites articles are: How to stop feeling self- conscious and Socially Awkward.

Given my lack of expertise in creative writing, I have written a rough draft of the story to jot down my ideas. I then, asked my brother, who happens to be a creative writer, to help me edit the story and improve it further.

Check out the story (for now, it will probably change drastically over the time) in my next post.
