Project Proposal

I have finally decided firmly on a topic upon which my supervisor agreed. Thus, I have submitted my proposal for the project. Here it is:

How digital methods can enhance stop motion experience.

In a nutshell, my project will eventually be a short interactive digital stop motion film.

 

Through much research and experiments, I will explore how much digital tools can improve the stop motion animation technique while preserving its core quality of being imperfect and real. The film will be entirely shot in stop motion technique, meaning all scenes and figures will be hand crafted. I will then use some digital tools (e.g: green screen, post editing and 3D modelling) to enhance the look and feel of it, then I’ll use web languages to incorporate video interactions (e.g: choose your own journey, click an object, flip a paper... etc) to produce an engaging film. The product of this experiment will then be implemented and presented in a website where viewers can play and interact with the film online.
