Deciding on A Topic
Today, I've spent most of of the day looking for a great topic that suits my interests. I've came across many topics that were rather interesting, however that made my search even harder. The top topics are:
- Merging different styles of animation into one short film (multi-verse animation).
- Interactive stop motion animation (choose your own journey).
- How stop motion feels more real than other animation styles.
- How digital forms enhances the illusion of movement in stop motion.
From all these topics, I choose the last one. It was not an easy choice, but I chose it mainly because it will allow me to focus on one style of animation, stop motion, which is the one I'm interested in the most. Moreover, this topic will allow me to create different styles of animation and digital manipulation as well, giving me the option to apply the digital skills I have gained in the program.
My main inspirations for these topics were:
(Stop Motion Isle of Dogs)
(IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5104604/mediaviewer/rm806584064)
(3D and 2D, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse
(IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5104604/mediaviewer/rm3930285568)
(Rotoscoping, A Scanner Darkly)
(IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5104604/mediaviewer/rm979862528)
I will further investigate on my topic, as I'm still not %100 convinced with it. I hope some more research will steer my mind into a solid topic idea, so then I can start planning on making the film.
